But, over time, the labor union movement began to grow, and they vocalized the issues of workers and organized strikes and rallies for better wages, reasonable hours, and safer working conditions. Labor Day came into being as a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the prosperity, strength, and well-being of our country.
